VILLAGE AT HOME | Lighting Specialists

We all know that poor lighting can cause eye damage especially when reading, but what other effects can poor lighting have on us in our homes?

Believe it or not, insufficient lighting has been found to contribute to depression and vitamin D deficiencies, while proper lighting is known to improve mood and energy levels. So, when I was approached by a design manager at Village at Home last month to review one of their lights from their new catalogue I couldn’t decline for, well, health reasons! 😉

Based in Manchester, their in-house design team create new lighting ranges every Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter to ensure they consistently provide trend led, value for money products each season.

Our guest room is a little different in style to the rest of our home + I wanted something relatively traditional to compliment the iconic classic William Morris wall covering.

I opted for the Grantham Light Ceiling Fitting, a classic candelabra style 3-light ceiling fitting finished in satin nickel supplied with a slubbed white cotton shade. Easy to install (my husband + father-in-law managed it), the fitting works perfectly in our guest room, providing ample lighting + bringing the scheme together.
